A little information about California K9 Services
We are a small family owned operation that services Long Beach and surrounding cities.
Because of our busy training, travel, competition schedule, we sign a very limited number of training clients each month. However, we can almost always refer you to other reputable trainers in your area if we are unable to assist you personally.
We believe all pets should be well mannered and obedient family companions, controllable anywhere, anytime. Most problems occur when communication between dog and handler is unclear. We specialize in ONE-on-ONE training to provide the best possible results for you and your dog. Along with proper handling skills we'll give you a better understanding of K9 behavior to ensure a solid and long lasting RESPONSIBLE pet/owner relationship!
We are always happy to demonstrate the differnt training methods used with our dogs or client dogs when available and provide a temperament and training evaluation. for your pet. Each evaluation includes information on "How To Choose a Professional Dog Trainer" and "Responsible Dog Ownership" literature.

Meet The Staff
Leri Hanson
Owner/Speaker/Trainer
Leri has extensive experience working with dogs, especially the American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) and has made the study of dog training and canine behavior a lifetime endeavor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
She has taught Dog Bite Prevention to over 6,000 field service employees including: Southern California Edison (contracted), Southern California Gas, Riverside Child Protective Services, West Texas Utility and Georgia Power. She has been a guest speaker for Pacific Southwest Safety & Health Conference, Santa Ana Juvenile Delinquent Center, 186th Street Elemenary School, McKinnely Elementary and has been active with the Long Beach City College Career Exploration Day 2002, 2003.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
Leri has been an "active" APBT enthusiasts for over 18 years and has competed Regionally and Nationally in the sport of Schutzhund (tracking, obedience & protection) and French/Mondio Ring sport. Leri was team captain for the Federation of American Stafforshire Terriers, American Working Dog Federation Team Championship 2000, 2001, 2002. In 2000, the first year the Pit Bulls ever competed, they placed 2nd overall with one of our team members (Craig Perdue and "Sweet Pea"(bred by Leri)) taking HIGH Scoring Female, HIGH Track (100 points) and HIGH SchH 1! Leri has owner/handler trained and titled multiple dogs in several different working dog sport arenas. Her most recent passion is the Mondio and French ring sports were she currently has the only APBT ever titled to French Ring Level 2 and Mondio Ring Level 1. She also took honors at the 3rd annual Working Pit Bull Terrier Club of America National Championship 2006 with her current competition dog "Capone". This however, is just the beginning of what she has planned for her personal pack 
Dane Hanson
Kennel Management & Maintenance
Another big part of the business from the beginning. Dane has the youth, strength and size to help with all the big jobs. He also provides decoy work as needed and assists as handler/speaker/decoy in conducting our K9 S.A.F.E. classes.
Denny Hanson

Luckily for all of us, Denny does just about anything that's needed around here. Afterall, it was he who started the entire ball rolling! And, most importantly he supports our love and passion for the animals.
